The Volume is in Very Good Condition Bound in later paper wraps: externally the wraps are frayed a little bit, but predominantly fine. Internally the leaves are generally clean and amply margined with some small marginal tears, and a more notable tear to Pp. 21/22, with marginal toning at the first and final leaves, with some mild foxing throughout otherwise.

Of Charles Stearns

Charles Stearns was an author in late eighteenth century Massachusetts, renowned as a teacher and moralist. Most of Stearns’ works were instructive dialogues, with Ladies Philosophy of love being a poem on the subject of what a young man looks for in a young woman. Though written in his youth, Stearns only chose to publish this piece as an adult, feeling his youthful observations justified.
